If you have a truck that you use for work with a specialized service body on it, you may find that you want to replace it with a new custom aluminum truck service body. If the truck is still running well and only the body needs attention, many options can be installed on your chassis when you are ready.

Construction And Design

A new custom aluminum truck body can offer you some benefits that a steel body might not have. The body's weight is typically significantly lighter than one made from steel, and aluminum is still very durable.

Aluminum is easily welded, and fabricators can use it to make the entire truck body that will fit your truck, allowing you to order a body that is made for your specific needs. A custom aluminum truck body could have an open back that provides room to haul large items, or it could be a closed body that allows you to have a secure area inside the bed or cargo area.

Some companies will let you customize the boxes on the side of the body as well. This option can be extremely beneficial if you have specialized tools that need to fit in the truck and are too large for some standard box layouts.

Hoists And Lifts

If you work in an industry that requires you to have a hoist on your truck, a custom aluminum truck body will not impede that ability. The hoist is typically attached to the frame under the truck body, so all you need to do is let the manufacturer know where the hoist needs to sit so they can make a hole for it.

When the truck body is installed, the hoist will go through the hole in the body, and then the installer can put a cover plate in place to close up the remaining gap. The body strength is not compromised, and you still have the tools you need on your truck with your new custom aluminum truck body.

Corrosion Resistance

Aluminum has some properties that make it more resistant to corrosion or rust, so it makes an excellent material for a custom aluminum truck body that will often be out in the weather. The body can be painted or powder-coated in the color of your choice so you can match your truck's paint, and even if you scratch the paint, the aluminum underneath will stand up to the weather better than steel or metals.
