If you have a mechanic shop, you probably already have an air compressor so that you can pump up tires and power your tools. However, what you might not realize is that a good air compressor is also a great cleaning tool for a mechanic shop. These are a few ways that you can use your commercial air compressor for cleaning throughout the shop. Once you try these ideas, you're sure to see that your air compressor is good for way more than you originally thought it was good for.

1. Cleaning the Floor

To get rid of debris that can make its way onto the floor in your shop, you might generally use a broom. However, there is an easier option -- using the hose on your air compressor to blow debris out of your shop. It's a high-powered option that doesn't require nearly as much work as sweeping but that is great for getting rid of dirt. Plus, you can even use it in hard-to-reach places to get rid of dust that you might not be able to easily access with a broom. Along with being used to clean the floors, you can also use your air compressor to blow dirt, dust, cobwebs and more away from the ceiling and away from your overhead doors.

2. Cleaning Out Cars

Did you know that you can actually use your air compressor for help with cleaning out cars? It can be tough to use a vacuum cleaner to access tight nooks and crannies in the interior of a vehicle, but an air compressor hose that is directed down into these areas can help blow debris out where it can be easily vacuumed up. This can make it easy for you to get customers' cars that much cleaner before they are picked up.

3. Cleaning Tools

When your tools become dirty, you can use your air compressor to quickly blow any dirt and debris off of them. This is a handy way to keep tools nice, clean and ready to use without having to use a cloth or other method for cleaning them by hand.

As you can see, the air compressor that you have in your mechanic shop is good for more than just adding air to tires and powering your tools. It can also be used for general cleaning tasks throughout your mechanic shop. Then, you can keep your shop and everything in it a whole lot cleaner, but you won't have to spend nearly as much time on basic cleaning.
